Without these people and companies this would be a very difficult fundraiser.... Gormac Coachworks Ltd. Renfrew Graham, Steven and all the guys serving as apprentices gave the car, which was a very dull 15 year old red (that looked pink), a complete bumper and trim respray. I'm sure you'll agree what a great job they did? BAA Glasgow Airport. Gordon Dewar, MD at the airport, paid for his team of MT fitters (these guys look after everything at the airport from bicycles to £300,000 Airport Fire Service Crash Tenders) to make sure that the Volvo was roadworthy and MOT'ed. Jim, George and the rest of the guys worked on the car in their own time. Missed a few coffee breaks!..A more capable pit team I could not have asked for. Wish I could take them with me! CJ Strain & Son. Lugton Road Carole's guys at CJ Strain offered to do the graphics for the Volvo "We'll make it look like a real Fire Engine" was a quote by Kevin McLean. These guys can put a full size photograph on the side of a car or van! I'm sure you will agree that the finished old Volvo could pass as a Fire Engine no problem? Caledonian Cleaning Co. Ltd. Glasgow Andy McIntyre and Jim McLaughlin of Caledonian have sponsored the fuel from Paisley to Dover and back...Its an old 2.0 Litre fuel injected engine! Lets just say the efficiency is not what it was 15 years ago so it does drink the juice. Just as well Kevin and myself are a couple of lightweights and rarely seen munching junk food..... Reid Kerr College. Paisley Our fuel bill from the start of the rally in Calais to Barcelona, and back to Calais, is being "picked up" by Reid Kerr College where Joe Mooney, Principal, agreed to sponsor this good cause. Lets hope we don't make a wrong turn and end up in Russia (or Italy, don't know which would be worse?) Below is a few pics of the car on the day before we left with the girls from the Science, Sport, Health & Care section at the college Gallery
