The Long Trip to Dover. Mileage 137,202 After a quick photo this morning with Gordon Dewar, MD Glasgow Airport, we met up with the 007 Team. The Paisley Daily Express sent a reporter and photographizer to cover the start of the drive down south. Once we got set up down at the MT car park and after the journo's done thier duty, we found a problem with the car.... The fuse had blown on our fridge. Yup, Team Fire has a fridge in the boot. As the fridge was a major component to our success we took a half hour to get it sorted. As time was short the 007 Team decided that they would meet us up at Hamilton services where they could get changed, They were wearing tuxedo's! A quick stop at "Campsie Snax" along the road to get a couple of rolls and sausage and a coffee resulting in £27 in donations from the staff..! So thanks from us. Spent £6 and came out with £27...Result, a great start albeit late. Uneventfull drive down to a service station just shy of Birmingham (with Kev in charge of the iPod, Soft Cell....no chance) when Radio Clyde called us and interviewed me live on air. Had to watch out for sweary words.. Filled up with fuel and off we went. Got as far as the M25 when the traffic got really heavy and we thought that we might miss the ferry at 7pm. Had to take the lead and clear a path for us when time was running short for the booking....who's idea was it to fit the car with blue lights? Got there with 10 minutes to spare....who said a Volvo couldn't do a ton?? Once on the ferry we managed a bite to eat and got a well deserved rest. Arrived at the hotel and couldn't get in? After much messing around we found out we hadn't paid the bill. Found out that my French is merd! Mileage now.....137,767 Gallery
